TAPPS has announced its 2026 Overall Art Student honorees, recognizing students who compiled top performances across multiple qualifying pieces in competition. The overall standings were determined by points awarded for each entry that earned a top-eight finish in individual categories.

According to the event details, students earned those points through both static pieces that were created prior to the event and displayed during competition, as well as works produced in onsite contests. That format rewarded not only technical skill and preparation, but also the ability to perform under event-day conditions across a range of artistic categories.

The announced honorees by classification are: 1A, Nicholas Welling of Founders Christian School-Spring; 2A, Addie Millsaps of Prestonwood CHristian School North – Prosper ; 3A, Hannah Elkins of Heritage Christian A; 4A, Sarah Badders of The Christian School at Castle Hills-San Antonio; 5A, Savannah Ballard of Grapevine Faith Christian School; and 6A, Ethan Etter of Antonian College Preparatory HS-San Antonio.

“Student work in each classification was on display this week at the Art Championships hosted by the BASE at Extraco in Waco, Texas. Congratulations to all of our students who entered the competition and to those whose points crowned them as the top performing students in each classification.”

The overall recognition highlights sustained success across the full scope of the TAPPS art competition, rather than a single result in one category. Students who placed among the top eight with multiple qualifying works strengthened their standing in the final points race, making the honor a reflection of both consistency and versatility.

With the 2026 overall art student results now released, TAPPS schools and communities can celebrate the individual artists who stood out in each classification through both pre-submitted display work and onsite competition pieces.
