In a nail-biting championship match, the Dallas International School Tigres overcame the Chinquapin Preparatory School Burrs with a final score of 2-1 to clinch the TAPPS Fall Soccer title on November 4, 2025. Hosted at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex on a breezy yet clear day, spectators witnessed a contest filled with fervor and strategic gameplay.

The match opened with the Burrs capitalizing on a corner kick opportunity, with Edwin Barahona placing the ball into the net, edging the Burrs ahead. Nonetheless, the Tigres’ resilience shone through when Hector Vivet curled a free kick from 40 yards out to level the score before halftime. With the score tied at 1-1, tension mounted as both teams sought the upper hand. It was Julius Maximillian Niemann who ultimately delivered the clincher, pushing the Tigres into the lead with a close-range goal during the closing minutes of the match.

Amidst the crucial offensive moments, goalkeeper Mateo Dard played a pivotal role for Dallas International, repelling multiple goal attempts from the Burrs, securing his team the championship title. His efforts were crucial in maintaining the narrow lead established by his teammates late in the game. Bryan Bunselmeyer, TAPPS Executive Director, praised the level of competition and offered his congratulations, remarking, “The Fall Soccer Championships presented three exciting contests to determine the 2025 champions. Congratulations to all four teams and to the eventual champions, the Tigres of Dallas International School.” These words echo the hard-fought journey and the peak performance that crowned the Tigres as champions.
